Do you like polo? Do you like horses? How about horsepower? Or even just having a dapper day outfit? Then come on out to Polo Party!

Grab your sunglasses, romper or sports coat and enjoy a classy game of polo! Reoccurring every November in Scottsdale at West World, the Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships is put on by the Arizona Polo Club and is the biggest polo event in the United States (1). There are four matches from top polo teams on the Saturday of the Polo Championships, including a charity match (3). Some of the teams featured are the Aspen Valley Polo Team, Royal County Berkshire Polo Club and Centtrip Wales Polo Team (3). There are also other forms of entertainment like a dog fashion show, luxury cars on display, and local restaurants and food trucks (2). Referred to as “the best polo event in the world” and “polo for the masses,” this is not an event you will want to miss (2). It is a great event to attend if you are looking for something to do on a weekend. Several of the fraternities on campus have created a date party event that includes attending this function. I, myself, went in 2018 with my boyfriend and had a wonderful time trying the food, looking at the flouncy hat wearing women, and observing the horses in this amazing game.
"It was very cool getting to see such a unique sport and the community that comes to observe it" - Davis Fryhoff (ASU student)

"It was really cool to get to experience a sport with such a storied history and its tight-knit community" - Zack Sanchez (ASU student)
Located off the Loop 101 at West World, Polo Party is not too far away from ASU’s Tempe Campus. At an approximately 22-minute drive, it is easy to get there (Google Maps). An average Uber ride from campus to West World is about $21. Luckily, the Polo Championships partners with Uber and, around the time of the event, they put out a code for Uber riders to receive a discount. You also have the option to drive yourself because there is free parking. They even encourage bringing food so you can have a parking lot picnic!
